Description
“Safer manual handling is in your hands! This 15 minute training video offers a best practice approach to safer manual handling. It demonstrates effective manual handling techniques for lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling most loads safely and easily. It covers:

- The TILE approach for assessing manual handling tasks
- The principles of manual handling
- Techniques for safer manual handling
- The role staff play in safer manual handling.”1
Thumbs Up
- Cost is only $2.00
- No registration or sign in required.
- Well organized – easy and logical to use without any instruction.
- Six short videos on material handling, the length of videos are just short enough so you can use them on the work-floor or job-site.
- Good audio & excellent high definition picture.
- The 8 principles of material handling were well done.
- Can be used off-line.
Thumbs Down
- Videos focus primarily on the simplistic task of lifting a box. Would have liked to see other lifting scenarios.
- Produced and made in Ireland. The narrator’s accent and some of the terms may be distracting to USA or Canadian viewers.
- Mostly filmed in retail and office settings. This would likely be a turn off to manufacturing and construction viewers.
- Most of the material presented was just common sense – we didn’t learn much new information by viewing these videos. But there is some value in reminding employees of important lifting principles that they likely already know.
