Safety App Of The Week

December 8, 2014 No Comments

Below is this week’s “Safety App of the Week“.  Every Monday we publish an article that reviews and rates a new workplace safety app.  Our testing is done on Apple iPads and Samsung Galaxy Tab 3s.  We rate each app from to ♥♥♥♥♥ (♥♥♥♥♥ is the best).  Prior app of the week articles are archived here.

Thumbs Up

  • cost is free
  • this app really is “easy” – no instructions are needed to use it
  • can attach photos and videos to your reports
  • built-in spell checker
  • can email completed reports (email addresses are auto-populated)
  • completed reports are archived for future reference
  • works off-line

Thumbs Down

  • unfortunately the “take photo/video” selection button does not work – we found a workaround that involved adding photos/videos from your mobile devices’ library using the “select from library” button (a couple more steps, but this method does work just fine)

Overall Rating

  • iPad / iPhone  – ♥♥♥♥♥
  • Android –  not available
  • Overall – this is the only free risk assessment app that allows you to attach a “video” to your report (a big deal).  Even with the little glitch we found when attaching photos and videos, this is still the best free risk assessment app currently available.
