Safety App Of The Week

Below is this week’s “Safety App of the Week“.  Every Monday we publish an article that reviews and rates a new workplace safety app.  Our testing is done on Apple iPads and Samsung Galaxy Tab 3s.  We rate each app from ♥ to ♥♥♥♥♥ (♥♥♥♥♥ is the best).  Prior app of the week articles are archived here.

Total Safety Industrial Safety Moments

Thumbs Up

• cost is free
• good graphics and photos
• lots of training topics to choose from
• appropriate for employee training meetings (AKA toolbox talks)
• the only ad we found was one, semi-hidden link to a video about their consulting services
• works off-line

 

Thumbs Down

• most of the topics are extremely simplistic/basic/elementary 
• information found in these brief topics do not do a very good job of covering OSHA training requirements – we would not use these abbreviated topics for OSHA compliance training
• in some parts of the app, the developer does not use proper English

Overall Rating

• iPad / iPhone  –  ♥♥♥♥
• Android –  ♥♥♥♥
• Overall – a good source for lots of very short training topics for toolbox talks
