Thumbs Up

  • cost is free
  • no registration or sign-in required
  • easy and logical to use without any instruction
  • visually looks good
  • 44 different categories available, many more than similar apps
  • the categories of most value to EHS professionals include: computer data, currency, illumination, length, mass/weight, prefixes & suffixes, temperature, volume & dry capacity, and volume & liquid capacity
  • super fast calculations
  • a premium version is available for $.99 – it disables advertisements and allows you to re-order both units and unit categories
  • can “switch interface” to have both “categories” and “conversions” appear on the same screen
  • there have been prior complaints about “crashing” – but we experienced no crashes with the latest version (2.2.4)
  • we tested numerous other unit conversion apps – this is the best one we found

Thumbs Down

  • there’s a small and distracting advertisement at the bottom of the page on the free app
