Official Description

“Hazard Manager is a workplace inspection application, that allows you to automate the entry, configuration, and export of hazard points recorded on your workplace floor plan jpeg that you upload via i-tunes.

Hazard Manager enables factory managers to automate the management of hazards for workplace safety inspection agency requirements, and can be used in conjunction with CAD, GIS, and database systems through the export of hazard data as .csv files.

Although Hazard Manager is intended primarily for workspace inspections, it can be used with any type of map or image to produce spatially referenced data points for export to other systems.

Monthly inspections are now saved for 24 months backward, and one month forward from the current inspection month.”1

Thumbs Up

  • the cost of each of these apps is free
  • no registration or sign in required
  • excellent graphics
  • can email completed inspection reports
  • can be used off-line

Thumbs Down

  • very complex, we never did figure out how to upload our custom floorplans
  • instructions were overwhelming – we don’t have days to learn how to use this app
  • once you create a “marker” for an accident/incident you can not move it
  • some markers are difficult to see, they blend into the background
  • can only use this app in the portrait mode
  • this is a safety inspection app, yet there are no checklists
  • can not add photos or videos from your inspections
  • all inspections must be done monthly – what if you want to make your inspections at some other frequency?
  • does not track outstanding deficiencies
  • does no trending of monthly data
  • even on the large screen of an iPad, floor plans are far to small to be readable and usable

Overall Rating

  • Hazard Manager Solo – ♥♥
  • Hazard Manager 3 – ♥♥
