Thumbs Up
- download the app for free – then register before you can use the app
- easy navigation – simple to use without instructions
- new users get their first 20 reports free
- purchase additional reports (from $8.99 /10 reports to $94.99 / 500 reports)
- a la carte purchase program where you buy only what you need
- there’s no expiration date on your prepaid reports
- available in 9 languages
- reports are easily customized using the “settings” tab
- the only report that is currently available is the “Hazard Report” – in the future they intend to develop “Near Miss”, “Injury/Incident”, and “Job Safety Analysis (JSA)” reports
- their current “Hazard Report” is outstanding (the best we’ve seen) – it includes: auto GPS prefill, auto location prefill, up to 3 videos/photos, and an automatic risk analysis calculator. In fact, this “Hazard Report” is so good, we will never again use paper and pens when making inspections, we’ll be exclusively using the Safety John app from this day forward!
- email completed reports to one address – the completed PDF reports you email look terrific
- the “Hazard Report” is a must have for every construction safety specialist
Thumbs Down
- charging an extra $2.99 to be able to email completed reports to more than one person, and $8.99 to customize the risk matrix is unjustified and feels like “piling on” – hey developer, just charge for the extra reports and leave it at that
- no email prefill ability – you have to manually key in each email address
Overall Rating
- iPad – ♥♥♥
- iPhone – not available
- Android – not available
- This “Hazard Report” is the best safety hazard- survey/hazard-assessment app that we’ve seen
